Objectives

The above mentioned service opportunities are the objectives of our institution. Old aged home is a basically western concept. In fact, due to old age, bent, tired frustrated old men are really disappointed, because of conflict with new generation.

Even daily meals and their living with their children have become problems. The need of the old age homes was not felt in the past. In India there is cultural heritage of joint family system and Indian mindset used to respect parents, Guru & Guest. Parents, Guru and Guests were treated as God. In modern life we Indians are accepting western education and with that its culture and values.

Besides increasing urbanization, pollution, scarcity of space to live and struggle to make both ends meet, is inevitable. Independent living is preferred to joint living. One self and ones own family unit is the sole concern. Usefulness and selfishness are at the centre of thinking. Many do not hesitate to tell that his parents live in an old age home. Rich and dignitaries also feel proud in telling that their parents live in an old aged home. It is a sad situation.

Changing social and family values and collapsed family setup have put forth infinite problems before elders. The person who has spent the whole life in keeping self- respect and who has dedicated everything to his family, would not adjust himself in a pitiable condition. Pity in one's own home is resentful and dishonour also.
